ALLHALLOWS PARISH COUNCIL

LISTED IS A RANGE OF ITEMS DISCUSSED SINCE THE LAST MAGAZINE

HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORT

Public Footpaths

The footpath opposite the Yacht Club has been temporarily closed due to the very poor condition of it. The Parish Council has sent pictures of the condition of it to Medway Council and requested that it is repaired and reopened as soon as possible.

Cross Park

A quotation to form a bridal path around part of the park has been received and is being considered by members.

GRANT APPLICATIONS

A grant has been agreed by EON for new lighting and a new fire door on the brimp building.

Mothers and Toddlers

Cllr Mrs Forrest reported that the group was still doing well. There was a Ladies Night with a drag queen for entertainment. A sponsored walk was held on the 22/4/08.

A new 5 year lease for the Recreation ground with Medway Council has now been agreed.

The remarking of the football pitch has also been agreed.

The dog waste bin has been replaced in St Andrews Walk also at the bottom of Binney road.

Concerns have been voiced regarding the action that Green Peace are proposing to take at Kingsnorth Power Station site in August, it is alleged that many thousands of protesters will be attending for a number of days and that tents may be erected in the surrounding villages.

ARRIVA

We have been advised of a timetable change to the Saturday bus service. On the whole, it has become the same as the Monday – Friday operation.

The point to note is, unlike Monday – Friday, the 796 service via Medway Tunnel will still be confined to Monday – Friday, NOT Saturday as far as we are aware. The Monday – Friday and Sunday operations remain unaltered.

The Parish intends to publish an up to date timetable as soon as it is available.

Cllr Alan J Marsh

Vice Chairman.
